Beef with oyster sauce

Oyster sauce naturally enhances the beef flavours in this recipe. A great choice for busy people who want a meal fast.

Shopping List:

Cornflour 9 g3 tsp
Sauces & spices
Oyster sauce 63 ml4 tbsp
Sugar, caster 9 g2 tsp
Garlic clove 6 g2 tsp
Capsicum 220 g2 whole
Green bean 500 g5 cups
Bean sprouts 120 g1¼ cup
Beef stock 250 ml1 cup
Beef, rump steak 700 g2¼ whole

Preparation Steps:

  1. Mince or crush garlic

  2. Thinly slice the steak

  3. Trim the ends of the beans and cut into equal sizes

  4. Slice the red capsicum

Cooking Steps:

  1. Dissolve the cornflour in a little of the stock. Mix with remaining stock, oyster sauce, garlic and sugar and set aside

  2. Heat the wok or large frypan until very hot, add 1 tablespoon of oil and swirl it around to coat the sides

  3. Add the steak to the wok/frypan and stir-fry over high heat for 2 minutes or until browned

  4. Add the beans and capsicum and stir-fry for another minute

  5. Add the cornflour mixture and cook until the sauce boils and thickens

  6. Stir in the bean sprouts and serve immediately
