Autumn is well and truly upon on. As we put aside out much loved Havianas and beach gear, the need for warm comfort food is evident. In terms of seasonal ingredients, we can expect to see more of our favourite autumn veggies and fruits: kiwi, pumpkin, stone fruits, figs, eggplant etc.

Roasted Pumpkin Soup
Who doesn’t love a good roasted pumpkin soup? It is a quick and simple dish that warms the soul and soothes those winter colds. Roast your pumpkins before blending with chicken stock for additional flavor. YUM!
Gnocchi with Pumpkin Sauce
Do you have some leftover pumpkin? Use it to create a decadent pumpkin sauce to go with some gnocchi for the perfect dinner dish. The recipe is easily adjustable to suit different styles and flavours. Great for vegetarians!
Stir-Fried Pork With Eggplants
For some Asian flair, this recipe combines pork with seasonally available eggplants. Eat with some steamed rice for a fast and easy meal. Eggplant is a good source of dietary fiber, potassium, vitamin B1 and manganese.
Slow- Cooked Pork Belly with Cabbage, Pear
Now for some real meat! Take a look at this bad boy. Tender slow-cooked pork belly cooked to perfection. Combined with the acidity of a pear puree and a cabbage compote. Yum.
